A.V Dawson Invests in Riverside

The company has strengthened its commercial property rental arm in recent months as part of a long-term investment strategy offering a range of facilities for businesses in the area.
Purchase of the two sites will consolidate AV Dawson's operations at Riverside Park where it has trading relations with many companies as suppliers, tenants or customers. It will also increase the company's stake in the estate and demonstrate its continued commitment to the area.

Gary Dawson, Managing Director commented "The new properties will add to the plethora of services we offer making us a one-stop shop for any company's logistics problems whether these include transport, loading or storage issues, or all three."

Plans for the two sites are markedly different. The Bowes Road Industrial Estate contains a total of 33 separate units that range in size from 1,700 sq ft to 7,000 sq ft. There are plans for the former factory at Startforth Road to be transformed into two-storey office and storage units with adjoining large warehouse space. There will be four high-spec, open-plan offices on the first floor ranging from 1455 to 2155 square feet, with equivalent ground floor area for assembly, storage, packaging and despatch. Flexible 20,000 square feet of clear, good height space attached to the building, provides for companies needing extra storage. There is also spare land within the site for new build office units and it is the only one in Riverside Park with secure parking for commercial vehicles - a major plus for
companies taking regular deliveries and orders.
